Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector: Shade 05

Hi lovelies, I'm back with another review on a new lip product. I've been hearing about the Clarins Natural Light Lip Perfectors for the longest time and know its quite popular amongst other beauty bloggers, so I decided to go out and purchase one myself to see what it was all about. I was first drawn to the original 3 shades there were, but once I started playing around with the newer shades I decided to go for shade 05. This shade is a gorgeous coral that comes off quite pigmented but is soft and not too bright on the lips.

The first thing I noticed when trying these lip perfectors was how smooth and sheer they were. They go on like butter on toast and leave the lips feeling completely moisturized and plumped (without the plumping effect) When I tried some colours on, I found that they filled in the lines on my lips added a sheen of colour. They're really lightweight and moisturizing which is a huge bonus in my books. I feel like they're going to come in handy in the summer months as they'll replace my lipstick and lipgloss with the all-in-one formula.

The only con of this product would be that I didn't find it to be very long lasting. After I tried it on in store, I did notice it only really lasted about an hour or so on my lips. It feels more like a lip balm and moisturizer if applied lightly, as the product moisturizes and nourishes the lips. If you add a little more product I think the gloss will last a lot longer and there would be better pay off with the colour.

The smooth formula is what won me over with the lip product, as I haven't got another product quite like it. I think I'm going to be using this on days where minimal make up is in full force so that I have a nice sheen to my lips. I'd recommend this product to anyone that's looking for a light gloss that moisturizes and adds a tint of colour.

Have you tried this product? Let me know what you think!

Mac Lady Danger Lipstick

After realizing that I hadn't bought a new Mac lipstick in ages, I went over to the nearest Mac store and began the hunt for a new lippy purchase. I was drawn to this lipstick and had no idea what it was until after I had tried it on! Lady Danger is a gorgeous warm toned red lipstick with a tint of orange/ coral to it.

I had heard a lot about this lipstick from various bloggers and know its a popular Mac lipstick. I've always seen pictures of the lipstick swatched and thought that I have to have it, but I never went out specifically to buy it. I don't own very many red lipsticks and I think this shade of red (warm toned) suits my skin tone better than the blue-reds. Russian Red is another popular red lipstick from matte but I thought it was too deep of a colour for me. Lady Danger is a bright red and I love that its warm toned so that you can play up with look with wearing it on its own and not looking too crazy or blended in with some lip balm to give a neutral look. I love that this lipstick is matte for the upcoming summer months, where frequent touch ups wont be necessary.

Since I've purchased this lipstick, I've played around with mixing it with other lipsticks to see what works and what doesn't. I havent put this lipstick down since I've bought it and have literally worn it everyday! This is what tends to happen when I buy a new lipstick, as I neglect all the other colours and try and find ways to wear my new purchase all the time!

I've been wearing the lipstick in two ways: Sometimes I'll dab it on my lips and then add some lip balm to give a more natural and subtle look. Other times I'll put the lipstick on properly to get the full effect of the colour and matte shade. I love wearing it both ways, and its a great transformation from day to night!

Lady Danger has made it into my top 5 Mac lipstick favourites - I'm obsessed with this colour! I recently found out that its a Pro colour so its only available in Pro stores, but if you're looking for a warm toned red lipstick I really recommend it!

Have you tried this lipstick?
